MOONRISE KINGDOM takes place on the American island of New Penzance in the summer of 1965. Two twelve-year-olds, Sam and Suzy, fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away into the wilderness. As local authorities hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore, and the peaceful island community prepares for catastrophe.
