Ardian Ahmedaja works as Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. The main emphasis of his research is the traditional multipart music in Europe. Born 1965 in TiranAtilde;la" (Albania). 1983-1987 studied composition at the Academy of Arts, Tirana. 1987-1991 Dramaturge at the State Opera and Ballet in Tirana and lecturer at Academy of Art including the field of "Folklore and Albanian folk music". In Vienna since 1991. Studied composition and music theory at the School of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (Magister of Arts, 1995). Studied Volkskunde and Musikwissenschaft at the University of Vienna.
