K-Pop boy band BTS has been taking the world by storm, becoming the first Korean act to top the Billboard 200 with their May 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear . The band repeated the feat in September, as Love Yourself: Answer instantly claimed the No. 1 spot. In 2018, BTS completed a top-grossing world tour, including four sold-out nights at LA's Staples Center. Yahoo Finance reported that BTS was also the top-selling act and top-selling show artist in Canada for Fall 2018. The band's upcoming 2019 arena tour had higher first-day sales than The Rolling Stones' 2019 tour, which went on sale the same day. BTS has an incredibly driven fanbase (known as "ARMY") and huge social media presence, with over 18.6M followers on Twitter, 15.
8M on Instagram, and 8.4M on Facebook. They have twice won Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards, and TIME included BTS on its list of the 25 most inuential people on the internet.
