From its inaugural exhibition 40 years ago to the present, the Aka Circle continues to shape the trajectory of Nigerian contemporary art Founded in 1985 by El Anatsui and Obiora Udechukwu, the Aka Circle of Exhibiting Artists brought together 15 artists based in Eastern Nigeria.
