CHAPTER 1 Take a moment here. Dedicate some time and let yourself get comfortable. Perhaps go outside and sit under a tree, or get cozy on the couch with a cup of tea. Take this time for you, to really connect with this deck that sits before you. When you're ready, hold the cards in your hands. Breathe with the cards. Breathe, and think about the relationship you are about to build with this deck. What is your intention for this journey? What do you hope to get out of this deck, and this book? Reflect on where you are in your life right now, and what you need or want moving forward.
How can this deck be of support to you? Go through the deck and look at each card carefully. Touch each card, and let this deck become yours. How do the cards make you feel? Are there some cards that stand out more than others? Does one card resonate more than the others? This deck can be used in a few different ways. It is an oracle deck, so it can be used as a classic divinatory tool, in which you pull one or several cards in order to get answers to questions or make predictions, but it can also be used as a tool to help you connect to your ecosystem in new ways. I am fortunate to live in a rural-ish area where I am able to go on walks in the woods and see incredible plants, and animals, and spend time looking for symbols out in the world. This isn't everyone's experience. The Found World Oracle is a way for everyone to connect with the feeling of seeing something "out in the wild," and the spontaneous synchronicities that can occur. It is also a reminder that you can see amazing symbols in any environment, and that imagery of something can carry as much meaning as seeing "the real thing.
" This is a judgment-free zone, and however you choose to use the deck is up to you. I will provide information to use it in a few different ways, and you can decide what works best. As you use this deck, your initial intentions might change. Your relationship to the deck might shift and change, and that's okay! Nothing is meant to stay the same forever.
