At the age of 12,Lorelai Kuecker started her quilting journey with one goal in mind, to make aQuilt of Valor for her mother. With no pattern and very little experience,she was determined to "make it work" with her 5th grade math skills. Afterquite a bit of struggles and plenty of corrections, she achieved hergoal. It wasn't until that quilt was on the longarm and she experiencedthe power of that machine that she realized she had found her place. Fromthat day forward it has been a whirlwind of classes, projects, and YouTubetutorials. In 3 short years she has quickly become known for her customquilting talents and her quilted garments and bags. Lorelai has wonawards at the 2023 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival, the 2024 Branson AQSQuilt Show, and has had a quilt displayed in the 2024 Houston InternationalQuilt Festival. She was featured in the June 2023 edition of Fons andPorter Quick and Easy Quilts and has had the honor of collaborating withThe Ruby Start Society, Northcott Fabrics, and the Quilted Cow.
She hasbeen asked to present her Trunk Show at the 2025 Branson AQS Quilt Show andwill be teaching youth-oriented classes at the 2025 Kansas City Regional QuiltFestival. In her spare time, when she isn't working on her dual creditclasses, she plays French horn in the Kansas City Youth Orchestra and is amember of the CenterStage Players theatre group where her favorite role hasbeen Cinderella in the production of "Into the Woods, Jr." Ultimately,Lorelai's goal is to expand the boundaries of quilting to a broader demographicand into new avenues of creation. She started Pigs in a Blanket Quiltingat the age of 12 and has skyrocketed into fiber arts and quilting industries.
