Dr. Faheem Ahmed Malik is a Lecturer in Transportation at Transport Research Institute(TRI), Edinburgh Napier University. He has expertise in active travel, artificial intelligence, and advanced mathematical and reduced order modelling. He was awarded his PhD in 2021 in AI-based modelling. Before joining TRI, he worked at Northumbria University as a Deputy Program Leader for Civil Engineering, and as a post-doctorate Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He has received a number of awards including Young Scientist Award (IEEE Control Society, UK and Ireland, 2022) and Knowledge Exchange Award (Three Lanka, 2022). He has been an invited speaker for several international conferences and meetings. He has led and worked on a number of projects, including the '¬1 million Training Hub of Renewable Energy Technologies for Sri Lanka, '¬ 8.
9 million eHUBS, and others. Professor Laurent Dala is a Full Professor in Engineering with over 30 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering. He has previously served as Chief Scientist for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (South Africa) and held the Chair in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Pretoria. A Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), Chartered Engineer (CEng), and Eur-Ing, he is also a former President of the Aeronautical Society of South Africa (AeSSA). Since 2014, he has secured over ZAR 3.0 million and £250,000 in funding as a Principal Investigator. He has published more than 180 peer-reviewed papers and holds four patents. An accomplished speaker, he has been invited to over 60 international conferences.
Currently, he serves as Head of Mechanical and Construction Engineering at NUN, leading a team of over 100 academics. Francisco Chinesta is currently a full Professor of computational physics at ENSAM ParisTech (Paris, France). He was (2008-2012) an AIRBUS Group chair professor. He is an honorary fellow of the "Institut Universitaire de France", plus a Fellow of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering. He has received many scientific awards in four different fields: bio-engineering, material forming processes, rheology, and computational mechanics. He is the author of 300 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and has made more than 600 contributions in conferences. He is the president of the French association of computational mechanics (CSMA) and director of the CNRS research group on model order reduction techniques in engineering sciences. He is an editor and associate editor of many journals.
Since 2013 he has been ESI chair professor on advanced modeling and simulation of materials, structures, processes and systems, and he is the president of ESI Group Scientific Committee. Dr. Sheeba Malik is a distinguished medical doctor and advocate for environmental health, dedicated to exploring the complex relationship between air pollution and human well-being. She began her academic journey at Bharati Vidyapeeth University in Pune and specialized in pulmonology at Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Hospital. As a physician on the front lines, she has witnessed the devastating effects of polluted air on vulnerable populations, fueling her quest to understand how air quality impacts various health conditions. Her extensive fieldwork in urban centers, rural communities, and industrial zones has illuminated the pervasive effects of air pollution. A captivating speaker and dedicated researcher, Dr. Malik has raised awareness about the critical importance of clean air at conferences worldwide.
Her tireless efforts have earned her accolades in both the medical and environmental science communities.
