Jenny Steel was born in Oxford and has been passionate about Wildlife Gardening since she found a hawk-moth caterpillar in her parents' garden more than 50 years ago! She is now a Plant Ecologist and Author specialising in Wildlife Gardening and has written eleven books on wildflower gardening and wildlife gardening. She is a tutor in adult education, a gardener, photographer and former wildflower nursery owner, with more than 25 years experience of writing about and teaching wildlife gardening, organic gardening and natural history topics. She has appeared on a variety of television programmes including Gardener's World, Horizon, The Oxford Channel and The Natural World. She was also a guest presenter on the BBC2 programme How Does Your Garden Grow. As well as writing books she has written for many national magazines and newspapers.
