Pat Koven, LVT, KPA-CTP is the Customer Engagement Specialist at CattleDog Publishing®. She currently owns her own training and behavior modification company, Haulin' Aus, Inc, which serves clients around the world. She and her staff offer a variety of classes, both basics and specialized, and private consultations for behavior concerns.Pat's love for animal education shows in her passion, pet-assisted therapy. As a Chapter Leader for the national organization, Love on a Leash, she and her Australian shepherd, Willy, visit libraries, nursing homes, children's centers and hospitals while teaching and supervising 40+ volunteers in her home state of Maine. Pat has coauthored the Therapy Dog Team Training Course for the Karen Pryor Academy.As a licensed veterinary technician for over 35 years, she has trained and supervised many staff members, in both clinical and behavioral skills. In her shelter experience, she developed less stressful behavior evaluations and behavior modification methods for all new animal arrivals to increase adoption rates and decrease length of stay.

She developed training programs for all shelter animals using rewards based methods in addition to individualized training plans for longer-term residents and behavior cases. Pat enjoyed teaching about positive reinforcement methods and clicker training. Pat has been an LVT since 1993, has a BA in Journalism and graduated as a Certified Training Partner from the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy in 2019.
