Chris Slavens lives in Laurel, Delaware, with his wife, Crystal. He has contributed to numerous publications including the News Journal, the Laurel Star, and the Libertarian Republic, and is the author of The Roofed Graves of Delmarva. He founded Bald Cypress Books in 2020 to publish books about the Delmarva Peninsula, including historical reprints. Currently Chris serves on the board of directors of the Laurel Historical Society, and edits the society's newsletter. He is also a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association.In addition to writing and publishing, Chris enjoys reading, gardening, hunting, and playing bass guitar.
