Clara Ward spends their days in or near the Pacific Ocean in California. Their previous novel, Be the Sea, takes place earlier in the same timeline as Dream the Deep and Dream the Light. All three explore sea creature perspectives and how humans grow by understanding themselves, their communities, and the ecosystems that include all life on Earth (and possibly beyond!). Clara's shorter works are featured in Strange Horizons, Tales & Feathers by Augur, The Neurodiversiverse: Alien Encounters, and upcoming in The Neurodiversiverse: Other Worlds. When not using words to teach or tell stories, Clara uses wood, fiber, and glass to make practical or completely impractical objects. More of their words along with crafted creations can be found at: clarawardauthor.wordpress.com.
