C. Mike Habermehl has researched the history of B-47 since 1971, and is co-author of the definitive and highly successful Boeing B-47 Stratojet: Strategic Air Command's Transitional Bomber . His 50-year quest has led him to archives across the United States and brought him into contact with nearly all of the key figures in the Stratojet story, including test pilot Bob Robbins, a long-time friend and supporter of Mike's research. Habermehl has accumulated perhaps the largest private collection of documents, technical manuals, photographs and artefacts associated with the B-47. A retired public school administrator in Information Technology and an ordained minister, Mike was editorof the B-47 Association Newsletter and also the organization's chaplain. His articles on the B-47 have appeared in journals such as FlyPast and The Aviation Historian . He lives in Texas. Gareth Hector is a digital artist of international standing and has also enjoyed a successful career in computer animation.
He is an aviation history enthusiast and has contributed to numerous Osprey titles such as B-52 Stratofortress Units in Combat 1992-2025 and RAF Lightning Units of the Cold War . He lives in Perthshire, Scotland. Jim Laurier is a native of New England and lives in New Hampshire. He attended Paier School of Art in Hamden, Connecticut, from 1974-78, and since graduating with Honours, he has been working professionally in the field of Fine Art and Illustration. He has been commissioned to paint for the US Air Force and has aviation paintings on permanent display at the Pentagon.
