Jimmie D. Compton, Jr. and his wife Nancy have two children, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He received a master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and was a licensed therapist for 25 years. In addition to being the founding and Senior Pastor of Hope Bible Fellowship Church for over thirty years, Jimmie also provided counseling services for the Detroit Police Chaplain Corps, Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, Eastwood Clinic, and New Way Christian Community Church. He has aided dozens of church clergy in biblical, counseling, and ministerial matters while authoring several books. Currently, he is Board Chairman of Citikidz Christian Sports Camp in Rector, PA. He loves running, walking, working out, and mentoring young men in his neighborhood.
Jimmie has been honored for completing an in-depth, six-year research project, Early African Church History: From Jesus' Resurrection to the Rise of Islam. This research has been developed into a two-year, online, self-paced curriculum at Hope Institute, the teaching and ministerial arm of Hope Bible Fellowship Church.
