Tongling is located in the southern part of Anhui Province, located on the southern bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It currently governs Tongyang County, Tongguan District, Yi'an District and suburbs. It has a total population of 1.33 million and an area of ¿¿2,992 square kilometers.
