Robert H. Sulnick is an environmental lawyer, former law professor, and activist who has spent his career on the front lines of environmental protection. He co-founded the American Oceans Campaign with actor Ted Danson and served as its CEO for ten years. He was also a member of the Green Group, a coalition of leaders from the nation's most influential environmental organizations working to shape national policy. Sulnick has led efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, along with protecting our oceans, the Rio Grande watershed, First Nation water rights, and addressing drought in California. He has also worked with industry to advance climate-friendly technologies, including solar housing, green hotels, electric vehicles, low-sulfur fuels, recycled oil, and desalination systems. As a lawyer and law professor, he represented victims of the Bhopal, India, gas disaster and was among the first to advocate for residents living near toxic waste dumps. He remains active in the Citizens' Climate Lobby and the Sierra Club, and writes regularly on environmental issues for Noozhawk, the Santa Barbara Independent, Substack, and social media platforms.
