David C. Brotherton is Professor of Sociology at the City University of New York. He is Director of the Social Change and Transgressive Studies Project at John Jay College, Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Critical Criminology and the founding editor of the book series Studies in Transgression (Temple). He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Division of Critical Criminology in 2023. Rod Martinez is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at Howard University. Bahiyyah M. Muhammad is Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Howard University. She is the coeditor of Mothering From the Field: The Impact of Motherhood on Site-Based Research and Black Children Speak Truth to Power: Social Revolution .
