Bob "CartoonBob" D'Amico is an illustrator, cartoonist, designer, author, and lifelong storyteller whose career has spanned more than five decades. Raised in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, New York, Bob graduated from New York City's High School of Art & Design, where he received the National Comics Award as the outstanding student in the senior cartooning class. He began his professional career in commercial art and design before serving in the U.S. Navy. During his Navy years, Bob served aboard the diesel submarine USS Sea Owl (SS-405) and later became an Illustrator-Draftsman assigned to U.S. Sixth Fleet Headquarters in London.

After leaving the Navy, he traveled and camped throughout Europe and later lived in New Zealand, experiences that continue to provide material for his stories and artwork. Back in New York, Bob built a long career in graphic design, illustration, advertising, packaging, and cartooning, including more than twenty years running his own design business. After moving to Pennsylvania, he continued his creative work under the name CartoonBob Studios. In recent years, Bob has combined his love of drawing, humor, autobiography, and observation in his Reflections of a Silver Fox series. The illustrated books look at aging, family, memories, changing technology, childhood in Brooklyn, Navy life, relationships, and the everyday absurdities that become increasingly noticeable with the passage of time. Bob continues to draw, design, write, and collect stories-firmly convinced that as long as life keeps providing material, there is no good reason to stop using it.
