Michel Chambon (Editor) Michel Chambon is a cultural anthropologist and Catholic theologian specializing in Chinese forms of Christianity. He has conducted fieldwork in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Fujian, publishing on various facets of contemporary Chinese Christianity, such as the agency of Christian buildings, Protestant calisthenics, Chinese Catholic nuns, and more. His monograph, Making Christ Present in China: Actor-Network Theory and the Anthropology of Christianity , explores six Christian communities in a small city in northern Fujian to examine how to conceptualize both the unity and diversity of Christianity. As a research fellow at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, he has launched and coordinates the Initiative for the Study of Asian Catholics (ISAC).
