Ben Lamorte is the creator of The Identity Blueprint, an AI-powered career direction system for mid-career professionals who have built real identity capital and are noticing that some of what they have built is no longer aligned with who they are. Ben knows what it feels like to have direction without choosing it. Early in his career, he became known as the "spreadsheet guy," not by choice but by default. The fifteen years it took him to walk out of that corner became the foundation for the framework he now teaches. His career path moved through management consulting, the early dotcom era, and product training roles before he founded OKRs.com in 2014. Over the next twelve years, Ben coached more than two hundred organizations across twenty countries, including Nike, Adobe, Cisco, Capital One, Zalando, and CareerBuilder, on Objectives and Key Results, the goal-setting methodology used by Google and many of the world's leading companies. He is the co-author of Objectives and Key Results: Driving Focus, Alignment, and Engagement with OKRs (Wiley, 2016) and the author of The OKRs Field Book: A Step-by-Step Guide for Objectives and Key Results Coaches (Wiley, 2022).
Ben holds engineering degrees from UC Davis and Stanford University, where he studied and taught decision analysis under Dr. Ronald A. Howard. The three-leg stool framework that organizes this book comes from Howard's fifty-year teaching tradition at Stanford. Its three legs are Information, Values, and Alternatives. Ben lives in San Anselmo, California with his wife, Ariana Amini.
