Terms & Conditions




This Supply Agreement ("Agreement") is between Oakleaf Books & Library Consultancy (“Oakleaf Books”), hereinafter also called the “Supplier”, a company with the Head Office at Bökebergsvägen 76, Svedala 233 94, Sweden, and registered under the laws of Sweden on its own behalf and the Purchaser, who will use this database to purchase books or other material as is available from the website.



Oakleaf Books (“Supplier”) agrees to undertake to sell to Purchaser and the Purchaser is prepared to buy books, book products, such as articles, and e-book content from the Supplier. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the above premises, and the mutual agreement set forth below and for other good and valuable consideration, Oakleaf Books and Purchaser agree as follows:


1. Exclusive Rights -- Due to the many facilities included in the entries provided in the database. Users  need to Register to use

1.1 Registered Users -- Once registered, Oakleaf Books & Library Consultancy (oblc) agrees to provide web access of database to individuals or to an unlimited number of personnel from Corporations through an institutional code distribution. Using a code associated search, faculty and staff can use the database to acquire information, which they can use to identify and derive orders, or use it for cataloguing or classification.

1.2  The Clients

1.2.1 Corporations: For Corporate customers, we provide freight and clearing services right to your door.

1.2.2  EU Residence -- For Individuals who reside within the EU, the Swedish VAT is charged to the sale.

1.2.3 Non-EU Individual Customers: For individual customers who live outside the European Union, the recipient is liable for any local taxes or import duties that may be payable. Oakleaf Books’ liability ceases at the Port of Entry.


2. Book Identification

The Supplier agrees to provide authorized rights to access database (“Database”) to the Purchaser. The database has the latest information on books in print in which detailed book descriptions are covered to facilitate easier identification and selection by the Purchaser before placing the order. The data integrates major and minor subjects seamlessly to enable easy identification. The data is continuously added as new books are published.

2.1 The Database -- Oakleaf Books offers a database with more facilities than just bibliographic information. The information for a complete entry includes but is not limited to the following:

a) Bibliographic details for the book  -- Author, Title, Publisher, ISBN, etc -- which are important in creating Order Lists.

b) Provide cover image(s) -- (as available)

c) Provide Tables of contents -- (as available)

d) Provide the LC classification -- Dewey has also been added

e) Provide LC Subject headings -- Great for cataloguing Librarians -- Bowker subject headings which are based on the LC format.

f) Gives a short description of the book

h) Pricing -- (GBP, USD & Euro)


3. Placing of the Order

3.1 Online Orders -- Orders can be made by individuals or by an Institution.

Each online Book Order to be placed by the Purchaser online shall be sent to the Supplier through the database order facility OR sent via email to:

 3.2 Bulk Orders: This notwithstanding, the Purchaser can derive orders by other means and present them to seek a price quotation from the Supplier. Send such orders to

 3.2.1 For orders NOT derived from the Oakleaf Books will provide the Purchaser with the prices for the identified books as a quotation. The price for the latest editions of the book will be provided, where the Purchaser has missed the details for such new editions in the order.


4. Orders & Payment 

4.1 Acknowledging Offer to Purchase: When the Purchaser places an order at, Oakleaf Books will send the Purchaser an e-mail containing the details of the order. The order represents an offer to purchase a product from Oakleaf Books, which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you, the Purchaser .

4.2 Payment

4.2.1 Online Orders: Payments for all Online orders will be taken at the time of order. Oakleaf Books will try to complete all orders as soon as reasonably possible, but there may be occasions when some books may take in excess of 28 days to fulfill. 

4.3 Bulk Orders

4.3.1 Bulk Orders for Bidding: Bulk orders can be derived from and ordered directly online. However, in instances where a bidding process is in place, the Purchaser can use information in to derive price quotations from the Supplier. Proforma Invoice:

a.     From 4.3.1 above, the Supplier will then provide a proforma invoice to the Purchaser for the purpose of price quotation.

b.     The Supplier agrees to send the proforma invoice to the address of the Purchaser by email, by fax or in such other manner expressly agreed upon between the two parties. 

c.     Placing of the order and confirmation will be made once the order has been formalized.

4.4 Discounts on Bulk Orders:  Discounts will be given on volume (Bulk) orders. Oakleaf Books offers preferential rates when Bulk Orders  are made, that is, any order with 30 books or more. The Purchaser also gets added advantage when orders are made for a library, multiple copies for staff, delegate packs at events, or for course packs.

4.5 Local Charges: The Purchaser agrees to meet all local charges that must be borne by the Purchaser according to the rules of the Government of the country the Purchaser is domiciled.

4.6 Back Orders for Bulk Orders: While the Supplier will supply books in stock immediately after the order has been confirmed, for Institutional Orders, the Supplier will backorder and pursue unfilled orders until all are supplied or an accurate status report is provided to the Purchaser. A backorder period of 180 days for all remaining titles will be given and shall be cancelled and a report given for the remaining titles at the end of 180 days.

4.7 Payment of Bulk Orders Invoice

The Purchaser agrees to pay the Supplier at the Supplier's bank the full sum of the invoice in 30 calendar days from the date of invoice after the Purchaser has received the books.

4.7.1 Payment Currency: The Purchaser agrees to pay the Supplier in the currency stated in the invoice, viz:  Pay Great Britain Pounds (GBP) in GBP, and US Dollars (USD) in USD, etc.  The Purchaser agrees to pay the Supplier via wire transfer (IBAN) as it is secure and inexpensive.


5. Freight and Delivery

5.1 Freight Method: Pursuant to this agreement, the Supplier agrees that once a firm order has been placed by the Purchaser, all purchased books in the order will be freighted to the address of the Purchaser, using the most convenient method.

5.2 Door-to-Door Delivery:  The Supplier agrees that delivery will be door-to-door.


6. Transfer of Title for Bulk Orders: The title of the books or book products sold shall pass from the Supplier to the Purchaser upon complete payment of the price of the invoice.  


7. Claims and Returns

7.1 Claims: The Purchaser agrees to inform the Supplier via email ( about any defects discovered within 7 official days from the date of delivery.

7.1.1 Risk of damage shall pass to the Purchaser after 7 official days of the delivery of the books if no notice has been given. For Bulk Orders, the Purchaser can deduct the full value of returns from the invoice at their full value during this period.

7.2 Returns

The Purchaser may return a book within 7 working days of receiving the delivery of the order without any reason. If the delivered book is damaged the Purchaser may return it within 1 month of receiving delivery of the order. All returns should be securely wrapped and sent, with the original invoice and reason for the return. Please note Oakleaf Books will refund the full cost of your order, not the costs of returning the book.

8. Order Enquiry & Cancellation

8.1 Enquiry: If the order has not arrived within the quoted delivery time the Purchaser can enquire into the status of the order by e-mail to We do not accept any liability or claim arising from late delivery.

8.2 Cancellation: The Purchaser may cancel the order at any time before it is dispatched.


9. E-Book Content

Whereas the Supplier will undertake the supply of e-book content, the rights for access and utilization will remain with the e-content provider, who retains the rights, title and licenses and therefore new agreements will have to be drawn with the Purchaser in order to expressly be granted the rights of use.


10. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oakleaf Books publishes this website and its contents on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and without any representations, warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, and including without limitation implied conditions, warranties or representations of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, performance, durability, security, availability, or accessibility, all of which are hereby disclaimed by Oakleaf Books to the fullest extent permitted by law. Regardless of the nature of the claim or the reasons for the loss and damages, Oakleaf Books’ liability is limited to foreseeable and direct damages only. Oakleaf Books will not under any circumstances be liable to you or any other person for any loss of use, loss of production, loss of income or profits (anticipated or otherwise), loss of markets, economic loss, special, indirect or consequential loss or damage or punitive damages, whether in contract, tort or under any other theory of law or equity, arising from, connected with, or relating to the use of this websites by you or any other person. In addition, Oakleaf Books does not represent or warrant that the information on this website is accurate, complete or current. Price and availability information is subject to change without notice.


In no event will Oakleaf Books’ total liability to you or any other person for any claims, proceedings, liabilities, obligations, damages, losses, and costs, whether in contract, tort or under any other theory of law or equity, and regardless of any negligence or other fault or wrongdoing by Oakleaf Books or any person for whom Oakleaf Books is responsible, exceed the purchase price of the item that is the subject of the claim.



11. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be deemed in default of this Agreement to the extent that performance of its obligations or attempts to cure any breach are delayed or prevented by reason of any act of God, fire, natural disaster, accident, act of government, terrorist acts, labour difficulty, sabotage, failure of suppliers or unavailability of material or supplies or any other cause beyond the control of such party ("Force Majeure"), provided that such party gives the other party written notice thereof promptly and in any event, within fifteen (15) business days of discovery thereof.  In the event of such a Force Majeure, the time for performance or cure shall be extended for the duration of the Force Majeure.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, should any extension of the period of performance exceed ninety (90) days, either party may, upon notice to the other, terminate this Agreement, and such termination shall not constitute a breach thereof.


12. Applicable Law

Contracts formed between Oakleaf Books and users as a result of using this website shall be governed in all respects by Swedish law and all such users hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.


13. Validity

Oakleaf Books may change, supplement or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time, for any reason, and without any prior notice or liability to the Purchaser or any other person, by posting the modified Terms and Conditions on this website.
